McDonogh
School
An unified Brand and Athletic Mascot
I created a new, original mascot illustration that would unify all the athletic teams and be used for school's athletic team uniforms and merchandise. After a period of research and exploration, I presented several options for the McDonogh Eagle to McDonogh's Creative Director and Senior Designer. The graphic went through several reviews with the School's Headmaster, athletic department coaches and other internal stakeholders, with the original design surviving the various rounds of approvals. This is a testament to our thorough exploration phase and our commitment to listening to the clients initial needs. The final McDonogh eagle is poised and in mid-flight, about to pounce on its prey.
As part of the process, I also reassessed the school's wordmark, seal and Eagle coat of arms, simplifying and refining the symbols to make them more legible and web-friendly.
The result was a 34 page Brand Guidelines document showcasing a new mascot, logo refinements and a unified brand.
